Comments Received:
#1 U.S. DOT/Transportation Security Administration
The DOT is in full support of this project proposal, and recognizes the importance of moving ahead with biometric standards that support the implementation of the Transportation Workers Identification Credential effort.
#2 Visionics
We support the development of an application profile for interoperability and data interchange. However, we do not support the division of work into this transportation workers-oriented proposal and the border crossing-oriented proposal (ed. Project Proposal M1/02-0098). We would vote yes for a single application profile that develops interchange formats for (a) applicant processing (b) access control and (c) verification. One project should aim to develop standards for continuity of authentication across these three applications.
