INCITS Names Phil Wennblom from Intel New Executive Board Chairman

WASHINGTON, D.C…. The InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards
(INCITS) membership has chosen Phil Wennblom, Intel’s Director of Standards, as its new
Executive Board chairman.


“Increasingly, Information Technology standards are developed for use in global markets by
experts from all parts of the world,“Wennblom said. INCITS provides stakeholders in the United
States an outstanding opportunity to contribute to international IT standards that are
fundamental to our industry’s success. It is a true honor to hold this position, and I look forward
to working with our members to move INCITS forward.”


Wennblom has more than 28 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. As Director of
Standards for Intel Corporation, he is responsible for company-wide standards policy; his team
leads Intel’s participation in strategic standards-setting organizations worldwide. Wennblom
also serves on the IEEE Standards Association Board of Governors, and he chairs the
Standardization Policy Committee of the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI).


Wennblom was selected to succeed Forrest D. (Don) Wright, from Lexmark International. ”I’d
like to thank Don Wright for his support of INCITS over the years and for the leadership he has
provided as chairman,” Wennblom said.


Dr. Donald R. Deutsch, Oracle Vice President and Chief Standards Officer, continues to serve
as INCITS Executive Board vice chairman.
