Update on ICMS Implementation
Transition to the INCITS Committee Management System (ICMS) continues. All membership data is now on ICMS, so members must use ICMS to view and pay invoices. Training on ICMS is available. About 10 committees have transitioned to use ICMS – read on for more information and to see the transition plans for the remaining INCITS committees.

Making Pleasing Music - JTC 1 Directives Harmonization Status

The JTC 1 directives are going through a complete rewrite to become more aligned with ISO/IEC directives. The changes will impact everyone in the INCITS committee that is involved with international work via TAGs or delegations to Working Groups. Jim Hughes, INCITS Procedures Board Committee chair, explains what to expect when the changes are implemented in 2010.

2009 INCITS Award Recipients
The 2009 INCITS Awards Dinner was held April 20, 2009 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida. Sixteen members of the INCITS community were recognized for providing technical expertise and exhibiting exceptional committee management skills while participating in standards development activities.

New INCITS Technical Committee - INCITS/CGIT1

INCITS has established a new Technical Committee on Corporate Governance of IT. The new committee, INCITS/CGIT1 will serve as the US TAG to ISO/IEC JTC 1/WG 6. Read on for information about the program of work and opportunities to participate. The first meeting of INCITS/CGIT1 took place on September 14, 2009.

New INCITS Technical Committee - INCITS/DM32
INCITS has established a new Technical Committee on Data Management and Interchange. The new committee, INCITS/DM32, will serve as the US TAG to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 32. Read on for information about the program of work and opportunities to participate. The first meeting of INCITS/DM32 will take place on September 23, 2009.

Update on INCITS Finances
This year has been financially challenging for INCITS. The economic downturn has made it difficult for some members to fund their participation, and INCITS is projecting a shortfall in revenue vs. our 2009 budget. Phil Wennblom, INCITS Finance Board Chair, describes how INCITS is managing the business in these tough times.
